- ABOUT US -
Betty has traveled around the world since she was a young lady. During this time, she visited Washington, DC and knew earlier on that she would make Maryland home.
Betty began her journey 3 years ago, looking into additional information for her new endeavor as a retail store owner. She wanted to open her own business because she always thought “Every neighborhood should have access to the highest quality product at an affordable price”. She then did extensive research about the benefits of using fresh spices and teas. Betty opened The International Spice & Tea Rack in mid-June of 2013, which is located in Colonial Beach, VA. She will be selling at different farmer market in the Maryland locate area in the near future.
The International Spice & Tea Racks’ array of teas and spices are decoratively displayed on shelves along the walls and each item has a colorful card which lists its country of origin, uses, and medicinal purposes. Options include Indian Fenugreek, Smoked Applewood Sea Salt, Syrian Aleppo Pepper, Lavender, Dandelion and Orange Smoothie teas. The spices can be ground up free of charge, or you may purchase them whole.
She plans to reopen a store soon to host a variety of events such as book clubs, society clubs and chess tournaments including Wednesday night poetry. She will also have cooking demos with some of the local chefs from the community using the spices within the store.
